Midtronics leads the way in Battery Testing

In an Industry where Warranty claims on the rise, and Customer service at an all time low, Bristol Batteries maintains its high standards with a new signing!
January 2012 saw Bristol Batteries Ltd appointed as the exclusive distributor in the South-West for the globally recognised Midtronics Battery & Diagnostic testing equipment. As well as equipping our own branches with the devices, Bristol Batteries is also stocking the products for sale into many different types of application from workshops & garages, car dealerships & showrooms, plus electrical wholesalers & battery manufacturers.
Midtronics proudly states on its website that their programs can be found in almost every OEM in the world including giants such as Honda, Mistsubishi & NASCAR. In the UK specifically the devices are carried on all AA & RAC roadside assistance vans. The benefits are plentiful with improved customer service, a decrease in Warranty claims resulting in lower operating costs, as well as being a safe, fast & accurate way to report Battery or electrical problems.
The Midtronics equipment uses patented conductance technology to measure the performance of a battery in many different states of charge. With over 80 patents in place the Midtronics products are superior in their field, indeed their reporting is considered the world-recognised standard for all battery testing. Bristol Batteries Ltd are looking forward to being part of the Midtronics team & will be exhibiting alongside them at the Mechanix Professional Motor Mechanic Show in Exeter in April.
BatRecycle

Designed and developed by a UK-based company, BatRecycle provides individuals and organisations with the means to actively contribute to a safer environment, whilst saving them money at the same time.
In European Union member states, the ‘Battery Directive’ has set minimum targets for the collection of waste batteries. By September 2012, 25% of batteries sold must be recycled. This increases to 45% by September 2016. BatRecycle will promote higher annual recycling and collection returns in EU member states, thereby helping to reduce the amount of batteries sent to landfill.
In the UK alone, over 1 billion consumer batteries are purchased every year. Figures suggest that only 5% of those batteries are recycled.

Start-Stop Technology cuts Carbon Emissions
Vehicles featuring Start-Stop technology are growing ever more popular. In the future these vehicles are likely to start appearing at workshops for servicing. With Start-Stop technology, the engine turns off automatically when the car comes to a stop at a red light or in stationary traffic.
The engine is started again when the driver engages the clutch or accelerator. This energy-saving technology results in considerably lower fuel consumption, saving as much as 10%. It reduces CO2 emissions in equal measure and is extremely easy to use. As this technology is integrated into Automatic as well as Manual vehicles, the demand for the batteries to support this is growing.
Varta, one of Bristol Batteries premium brands is one of the pioneers of these batteries, working closely with several of the major car brands including Volkswagen, developing what is turning out to be an entirely new type of battery. The Start-Stop technology relies entirely on the battery for powering the electrical devices when the car comes to a stop and reliably restarting the engine, which is no easy feat!
Whilst the technology is still very new, it is the way of the future with more pressure being laid by Government to cut CO2 emissions, it is expected that by 2015 more than 16 million new Start-Stop vehicles will be manufactured in Europe, so the future support of these vehicles needs to considered now, Bristol Batteries is proud to be stocking this new range and would welcome any questions you might have.”
